The SANE nurse is accountable to the SANE Program Manager and is responsible to provide competent care to adult/adolescent victims of sexual assault, 15 years of age and up, all genders. The SANE nurse works as an independent contractor of Tri-County Women’s Centre (TCWC), providing care that is consistent with the mission, vision, and philosophy/principles of TCWC.
Avalon Sexual Assault Centre is currently seeking a board secretary to join our volunteer Board of Directors.
We are seeking an individual to join the Board of Directors who can assume responsibilities of the secretary which include: attending and taking notes during board meetings, keeping records of the board’s actions, maintaining our electronic records, preparing and circulating the board meeting agendas and working with the Board Chair on administrative tasks.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.) Casual on-call positions available
Accountable to the SANE Program Coordinator, the on-call SANE is responsible for providing medical/forensic examinations to victims of an immediate sexual assault of all gender identities and ages. The on-call SANE’s role may include but is not limited to: medical/forensic assessment, treatment, evidence collection, documentation, education and training, crisis intervention, collection of statistical data/information, and provision of court testimony as required.

Nearly every woman I know has been sexually assaulted at some point in her life, including me. I only know a handful of people who reported it, much less went public with it, for all of the reasons that Christine Ford was afraid to. Staying quiet is the norm, not the exception.
