Job Opportunity: Initial Response Support Counsellor

This is a general support/crisis intervention, non-therapeutic counselling position. (12 Month Term Position with the possibility of extension.) The Initial Response Support Counsellor will respond to all calls and inquiries from individuals seeking information regarding Avalon Centre client services.

Client support services will include:
• Providing general supportive counselling, crisis intervention, information and referral services to all callers and walk-in requests.
• Providing intake and navigation to clients seeking Avalon programs and services.
• Managing appointment bookings and administrative tasks specific to this position.
• Opening the office and providing first point of contact for clients/callers.
• Working with other Avalon staff and liaising with other service providers to ensure appropriate referrals and seamless response to clients/callers across all programs/services.

Tri County Women’s Centre Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Manager Part-time position, 17.5 hours/week at $35/hr

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.) Casual on-call positions available

Accountable to the SANE Program Coordinator, the on-call SANE is responsible for providing medical/forensic examinations to victims of an immediate sexual assault of all gender identities and ages. The on-call SANE’s role may include but is not limited to: medical/forensic assessment, treatment, evidence collection, documentation, education and training, crisis intervention, collection of statistical data/information, and provision of court testimony as required.
